Library Expectations – please review with your students
All students who are not booked into the library with their class must provide a class pass that identifies their learning purpose/activity. Individual and group class passes are hard copy only; starter set has been provided to all teachers in office mailboxes. Students without class passes will not be allowed into the library during instructional blocks.
Copies of individual and group passes to photocopying are posted in the Staff Google Classroom. Ensure that you have passes available for your TOC.
Phones must be stored in the library’s phone hotels during Blocks A-D if they are not left in a locked classroom. Phones must be put away during non-instructional time
Food and drinks without a lid are not permitted in the library.
Please book the library through Wendy via email for any class use: ex. a research/information literacy lesson, choosing a book for silent reading, using the expanded reading area for silent reading. You will receive a calendar invite to show confirmation of booking.
The library space is reserved for instructional use and learning activities that utilize the library resources. Guest speakers and occasional teacher meetings will be booked in the library classroom when not in use for instruction.
The library can accommodate two classes per block – the library classroom and the general area with tables. There are 16 desktop computers and 20 chromebooks. A small set of chromebooks will be reserved for students who are enrolled in a Study Block.
*Chromebook cart is for use in the library only – no classroom circulation
available.
