How Pink Shirt Day Started

Pink Shirt Day started after an incident of homophobic bullying in Nova Scotia back in 2007. Two students stood up for the  victim who was bullied for wearing pink, and went out to a discount store and bought 50 pink shirts for people to wear the next day. They also sent invitations to the fellow students at the school to show up wearing pink the next day. Ever since this incident, Pink Shirt Day has grown in popularity and is practiced around schools throughout Canada.

"Stop a Bully" is a Canada wide antibullying program developed in 2009. It allows students to be able to report bullying at no cost of schools or students. There website also contains a large amount of free teacher resources around bullying and cyberbullying.
