MENTAL HEALTH
Oct. 10 was World Mental Health Day, but the library is highlighting mental health resources for students for the remainder of October. A handful of selections are displayed to the right of the library entrance, and there are many other titles in the 616 section of the library.Resources for teacher reference are as follows:
- A kit of books and a teacher guide could be especially useful resources for a mini-unit at the grades 9 & 10 level. This set includes 15 student copies with the teacher's guide.
- Additionally, The National Film Board of Canada recently released a list of films pertaining to mental health; you can access the list of films HERE.
ASSESSMENT & INQUIRY RESOURCES
The teacher reference section in our library (library office) has two copies of the Myron Dueck title. Both are ready for check out!
Useful inquiry resources include the following books. Guided Inquiry Design breaks down each part of the process into sample lesson/"session" plans. Dive Into Inquiry illustrates ways of structuring inquiry for learners with very different experiences of inquiry, from minimal to experienced levels.
If there are any additional professional resources you'd like to see in our teacher reference section, please let Wendy know.
